Hailing from one of Scotland's oldest established distilleries in the historic market town of Oldmeldrum, this Highland single malt represents a celebrated chapter in Glen Garioch's heritage. The 'Garioch' lands have been famed for centuries as the 'Granary of Aberdeenshire,' renowned for producing some of the finest barley in the country. Distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2011 as Batch 11, this expression captures the distillery's signature robust, waxy, and honeyed character. The spirit's deep complexity is a testament to traditional production methods, including the use of copper pot stills that yield a heavy, full-bodied distillate. This batch showcases a beautiful marriage of rich maltiness, orchard fruits, and warm baking spices, rounded out by years of quiet maturation in select oak casks.

Glen Garioch (udtales 'Glen Geery') blev grundlagt i 1797 af John og Alexander Manson og er et af Skotlands ældste kontinuerligt aktive destillerier samt det mest østligt beliggende i Highland-regionen. Destilleriet ligger i markedsbyen Oldmeldrum i den frugtbare Garioch-dal – historisk hyldet som 'Aberdeenshires kornkammer' – hvor det nyder godt af førsteklasses lokalt byg og mineralrigt kildevand fra Silent Spring ved Coutens Farm. Under Suntory Global Spirits' ejerskab (via Morrison Bowmore Distillers) har Glen Garioch gennemgået en skelsættende modernisering, som genindførte klassisk gulvmaltning og direkte fyrede wash stills af kobber. Denne traditionelle produktionsmetode, kombineret med en gæringstid på 50 timer, tilfører whiskyen dens karakteristiske fyldige, voksagtige og honningsøde profil med fine noter af plantagefrugt og varme kornnoter. Destilleriet er berømt for sine ufiltrerede (non-chill-filtered) aftapninger ved høj alkoholstyrke, hvor flagskibet Founder's Reserve, den 12-årige udgave og de eksklusive årgange ved fadstyrke markerer sig som absolutte højdepunkter.
