✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the heart of Speyside, Scotland, the Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru is a masterstroke of cross-cultural maturation. Founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, Glenfiddich has long been a pioneer in single malt Scotch. This exceptional expression is aged for 23 years in American and European oak casks before undergoing an experimental finishing period of up to six months in rare French Cuvée oak casks—the very casks that once cradled the base wines destined for the world's finest champagnes. This unique finishing process infuses the traditional Speyside profile of rich vanilla, sweet brioche, and pear blossom with an elegant, effervescent-like fruitiness and a delicate floral lift, bridging the rugged heritage of Scottish distillation with the refined luxury of French winemaking.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1886 by William Grant alongside his nine children, Glenfiddich stands as one of Scotland's most historically significant and enduringly independent, family-owned distilleries. Situated in Dufftown within the heart of Speyside, the distillery draws its pure, mineral-soft process water exclusively from the Robbie Dhu springs, which flow through nearby peatlands and quartz terrain. Distillation is conducted in unusually small, distinctively shaped copper pot stills, meticulously replicated down to the exact curvature of the original late-nineteenth-century vessels to preserve high ester formation. Glenfiddich was instrumental in pioneering the modern global market for single malt Scotch in the 1960s. Today, under the guidance of Malt Master Brian Kinsman, the distillery is distinguished by its on-site cooperage and Solera vat system, crafting an iconic house profile marked by fresh orchard pear, delicate white blossom, subtle oak spice, and dried fruit complexity exemplified in releases like the 21 Year Old Gran Reserva Caribbean rum cask finish and the Rare Collection.
