Hailing from the heart of Speyside, Scotland, Glenfiddich—meaning 'Valley of the Deer' in Gaelic—was founded by William Grant in 1886. The Glenfiddich 40 Year Old is a legendary single malt Scotch whisky, celebrated for its pioneering 'remnant vatting' process. In this meticulous method, remnants of the previous 40-year-old batch are carried over and married with newly selected casks, creating a continuous thread of liquid history that spans decades. Founded in 1886 by William Grant and constructed by hand with the help of his family, Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Dufftown in Scotland's renowned Speyside region. Still independently owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made history in 1963 by pioneering the international single malt Scotch whisky category beyond traditional blended scotch. Glenfiddich crafts its spirits using the pristine waters of the nearby Robbie Dhu springs, distilling through distinctive copper pot stills and maintaining its own on-site cooperage to oversee maturation in premium American and European oak casks.
