Hailing from the heart of Speyside, Scotland, the Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Single Malt is a masterclass in innovative maturation. Created in 1998 by Malt Master David Stewart, this expression is famously finished using a custom-built Oregon pine Solera Vat, inspired by the traditional sherry bodegas of Spain. The vat, which has never been emptied and remains at least half full since its inception, harmonizes whiskies aged in European oak sherry casks, traditional American bourbon casks, and brand-new oak casks. This unique process imparts a remarkably rich, warm, and complex character to the spirit, characterized by layers of dark honey, sherry wood, marzipan, and gentle baking spices, deeply rooted in the legendary distilling heritage of the Dufftown region.
