Crafted in the remote, windswept Glenlivet valley, this single malt benefits from the mineral-rich waters of Josie's Well and the distillery's signature tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills, which encourage maximum copper contact to create an exceptionally light, elegant, and ester-rich spirit. The whisky is matured in a combination of traditional European oak and American white oak casks, imparting delicate notes of vanilla, ripe orchard fruits, and subtle spice. This expression captures the historic spirit of Speyside, where illicit distillers once hid in the hills, eventually giving rise to one of the world's most celebrated single malts.

The Glenlivet blev grundlagt i 1824 af George Smith i den afsidesliggende Livet Valley i skotske Speyside, og destilleriet har en historisk særstatus som det allerførste i sognet, der opnåede officiel licens efter Excise Act i 1823. I dag hører destilleriet under Chivas Brothers og Pernod Ricard. Det mineralrige vand hentes fra Josie's Well, og destillationen foregår på høje, lanterneformede kobberkedler, hvilket skaber en bemærkelsesværdig let og elegant spiritus.
