The Glenlivet 18 Year Old is a masterpiece of Speyside single malt craftsmanship, shaped by decades of tradition in the remote Livet valley. This expression is matured in a selection of hand-selected casks, combining first and second-fill American oak—which imparts sweet tropical notes—with ex-sherry oak casks that introduce rich, spicy complexity. The distillery's signature lantern-shaped copper pot stills, designed by founder George Smith, encourage maximum copper contact, resulting in an incredibly elegant, bright, and floral spirit. Drawing its mineral-rich water from the historic Josie's Well, this 18-year-old expression represents a perfect balance of ripe pear, smooth vanilla, and warm oak spice, carrying the legacy of the first licensed distillery in Speyside.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Glenlivet valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet is legendary as the first licensed distillery in the parish, setting the standard for Speyside single malts. Now owned by Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws its mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and utilizes lantern-shaped copper pot stills to produce a characteristically bright, elegant, and fruity spirit. The Glenlivet is globally renowned for its exceptional wood management, utilizing traditional oak, American white oak, and French Limousin oak casks to age signature expressions such as the 12 Year Old, the 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, and the rare Winchester Collection.
