This extraordinary 40-year-old single malt represents the pinnacle of Speyside distilling, originating from the historic Glenlivet Distillery founded by George Smith in 1824. Smith famously carried dual pistols to protect himself from jealous illicit distillers in the remote Glenlivet valley. The distillery's signature lantern-shaped copper pot stills, designed by Smith himself, draw mineral-rich water from Josie's Well to create an exceptionally bright, elegant, and floral spirit. Over forty years of slow maturation in hand-selected oak casks, this expression has developed an unparalleled depth, weaving together notes of rich dried fruits, dark chocolate, toasted oak, and delicate spice, showcasing the profound impact of time and Speyside's unique microclimate.

Established in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Glenlivet valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet is legendary as the first licensed distillery in the parish, setting the standard for Speyside single malts. Now owned by Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws its mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and utilizes lantern-shaped copper pot stills to produce a characteristically bright, elegant, and fruity spirit. The Glenlivet is globally renowned for its exceptional wood management, utilizing traditional oak, American white oak, and French Limousin oak casks to age signature expressions such as the 12 Year Old, the 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, and the rare Winchester Collection.
