The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Double Oak represents the quintessential Speyside single malt style, shaped by the mineral-rich waters of Josie's Well and the distillery's signature tall, lantern-shaped copper pot stills designed by founder George Smith. Smith famously secured the first legal license in the region in 1824, defying local illicit distillers who threatened his life. This expression undergoes a dual maturation process, aging in both traditional European oak and American white oak casks. The American oak imparts sweet notes of vanilla and coconut, while the traditional oak lends structure and subtle spice, resulting in a remarkably smooth, bright, and fruit-forward spirit.

Established in 1824 by George Smith in the remote Glenlivet valley of Speyside, Scotland, The Glenlivet is legendary as the first licensed distillery in the parish, setting the standard for Speyside single malts. Now owned by Pernod Ricard, the distillery draws its mineral-rich water from Josie's Well and utilizes lantern-shaped copper pot stills to produce a characteristically bright, elegant, and fruity spirit. The Glenlivet is globally renowned for its exceptional wood management, utilizing traditional oak, American white oak, and French Limousin oak casks to age signature expressions such as the 12 Year Old, the 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, and the rare Winchester Collection.
