Hailing from the historic town of Tain in the Scottish Highlands, Glenmorangie is renowned for its towering copper pot stills—the tallest in Scotland—which produce an exceptionally light, elegant, and floral spirit. This rare 12-year-old Barrel Select Release, bottled in 2020, highlights the distillery's pioneering heritage in wood finishing. The single malt spent its first eight years maturing in traditional ex-bourbon American white oak casks before undergoing a secondary four-year maturation in sweet Malaga wine casks from Andalusia, Spain. This finishing process coaxes out luscious notes of honey, milk chocolate, raisins, and baking spices, beautifully complementing the distillery's signature citrus and stone fruit character.
