✨ Technical Specifications

This extraordinarily rare 23-year-old Highland single malt is a masterpiece born from the collaboration between Glenmorangie's visionary Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden, and the acclaimed Japanese botanical artist Azuma Makoto. Inspired by Makoto's breathtaking floral sculptures, Dr. Lumsden crafted a whisky that mirrors the complex beauty of nature. Distilled in Glenmorangie's signature copper pot stills—the tallest in Scotland, which produce an exceptionally light and pure spirit—this expression was aged in ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a unique finishing period in Chardonnay wine casks from Burgundy. The result is a sensory tapestry of floral notes, ripe stone fruits, and toasted oak, celebrating the shared appreciation for craftsmanship and natural beauty between Scottish distilling heritage and Japanese floral artistry.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1843 by William Matheson on the tranquil shores of the Dornoch Firth in Ross-shire, Glenmorangie stands as a benchmark of Highland single malt Scotch whisky. The distillery is distinguished by its use of Scotland's tallest copper pot stills—rising over five meters—which foster prolonged copper contact and reflux, yielding an exceptionally delicate, floral, and citrus-forward spirit. Mineral-rich, hard water sourced from the historic Tarlogie Springs further shapes its distinct profile. Under the innovative stewardship of Dr. Bill Lumsden and owner Moët Hennessy, Glenmorangie pioneered secondary wood finishing in Sauternes, Port, and Sherry casks. Beyond core benchmarks like The Original and The Nectar, the house crafts revered, complex expressions such as Signet, Pride, and the vintage Bond House No. 1 Collection, balancing Highland elegance with cutting-edge wood management.
