Glenmorangie, nestled on the scenic shores of the Dornoch Firth in the Scottish Highlands, has been distilling its legendary single malt since 1843. The distillery is famous for possessing the tallest copper stills in Scotland, which are the height of an adult giraffe. These exceptionally tall necks ensure that only the lightest and purest vapors ascend to the top, creating an inherently elegant, floral, and delicate spirit. This rare 30-year-old expression, bottled in 2004, showcases the distillery's pioneering expertise in wood finishing. After spending decades maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was finished in hand-selected Oloroso sherry casks. This dual maturation coaxes out deep notes of dried fruits, warm baking spices, and roasted nuts, paying homage to the traditional craftsmanship of the legendary 'Sixteen Men of Tain' who historically ran the distillery.
