Hailing from the wind-swept Highlands of Scotland, Glenmorangie is renowned for possessing the tallest copper pot stills in the country—reaching the height of an adult giraffe—which produce an exceptionally delicate and elegant spirit. The Quinta Ruban 12-Year-Old is a masterclass in wood finishing, a technique pioneered by the distillery. The spirit spends its first ten years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, developing a soft, honeyed foundation. It is then transferred to hand-selected ruby port pipes from the historic quintas of Portugal for an additional two years of maturation. This finishing process infuses the whisky with a striking ruby hue and a decadent tapestry of dark mint chocolate, mandarin orange, and warm spices, beautifully marrying Scottish distilling heritage with Portuguese wine-making tradition.
