Glenmorangie, famed for utilizing Scotland's tallest copper pot stills—which are as tall as an adult giraffe—produces an exceptionally light and elegant spirit. For this specific release, the distillery sourced slow-growth, fine-grained American white oak from the northern slopes of the Ozark Mountains in Missouri. These 'designer casks' were air-dried for two years, toasted, and lightly charred to extract maximum sweetness, vanilla, and coconut notes. The resulting single malt, bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration, represents a landmark experiment in how bespoke wood influences Highland whisky, weaving together local folklore of the 'Men of Tain' with modern wood science.
