Hailing from the legendary Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, the Single Highland Rare Malt 18 Year Old is a masterpiece of Scotch whisky craftsmanship. Known for possessing the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland—reaching the height of an adult giraffe—Glenmorangie ensures only the lightest, purest vapors ascend to condense, resulting in an exceptionally elegant spirit. This expression spends its first fifteen years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, after which approximately thirty percent is transferred into Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for its final three years. Once reunited, the marriage of these casks yields a rich, silky malt with notes of dried fruits, honey, and subtle floral complexity. The distillery's heritage is deeply intertwined with the 'Sixteen Men of Tain' and the mineral-rich waters of the Tarlogie Springs, which flow through limestone, imparting a unique character to this historic Highland malt.
