A testament to Jean-Marie Guffens' rebellious spirit and winemaking genius, Idiosyncrazy is an unconventional Vin de France white that defies strict appellation boundaries. This unique cuvee is a masterful blend of Chardonnay sourced from his legendary Burgundy vineyards and his southern estate, Chateau des Tourettes in the Luberon. By marrying the mineral-driven tension and vibrant acidity of northern Burgundy with the sun-drenched richness and ripe stone-fruit character of the south, Guffens creates a wine of singular personality. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on its fine lees, it represents a fascinating dialogue between two distinct French terroirs, guided by one of the wine world's most colorful and uncompromising figures.

Domaine Guffens-Heynen blev grundlagt i 1979 af det belgiske ægtepar Jean-Marie Guffens og Lydie Heynen og har hjemme i den maleriske landsby Vergisson i Mâconnais i Bourgogne. Jean-Marie Guffens er bredt anerkendt som en revolutionerende visionær, der forvandlede det sydlige Bourgognes omdømme gennem et kompromisløst markarbejde, streng manuel selektering i flere omgange ('tries') under høsten og et præcist, minimalistisk arbejde i vinkælderen. Vingården er verdenskendt for at skabe ekstraordinært koncentrerede, mineralske og lagringsværdige hvide bourgogner fra ikoniske lieu-dits som En Chavigne og La Roche i Pouilly-Fuissé samt Mâcon-Pierreclos – vine, der jævnligt måler sig med de ypperste Grand Crus fra Côte de Beaune.
