The Fenchelberg Riesling GG represents a remarkable chapter of viticultural resurrection by the Gunderloch estate. Located in Nackenheim along the legendary, iron-rich red clay-slate of the 'Roter Hang' (Red Slope), the historic Fenchelberg vineyard had long lain fallow until Johannes Hasselbach painstakingly recultivated its steep terraces. The site derives its name, 'Fennel Mountain,' from the wild fennel that grows abundantly around the vineyard, which local lore suggests influences the wine's unique aromatic profile. Crafted from 100% Riesling grapes, this VDP.Grosses Gewächs (GG) is fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged on its fine lees. The result is a dry, highly structured masterpiece that balances intense, salty minerality with ripe stone fruit and a signature, wild herbal complexity.

Weingut Gunderloch blev grundlagt i 1890 af bankmanden Carl Gunderloch og er en højt respekteret vingård beliggende i Nackenheim ved Rhinen i den tyske vinregion Rheinhessen. I dag drives vingården med stor omhu af Hasselbach-familien gennem flere generationer. Gunderloch er især berømt for sine historiske parceller på de stejle, røde skiferterrasser i den legendariske Roter Hang – med grand cru-marken Nackenheimer Rothenberg som det ubestridte højdepunkt.
