Gunderloch's Grauburgunder Löss Trocken highlights a softer, beautifully textured side of Rheinhessen's terroir, shifting focus from the estate's famous red slate cliffs to the wind-blown loess (Löss) soils of the region. Deposited during the last ice age, these fertile loess soils are highly expressive, imparting a rich, yellow-fruit character and a gentle, round acidity to the Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) grape. Winemaker Johannes Hasselbach coaxes out the variety's natural elegance through careful temperature-controlled fermentation, primarily in stainless steel with a period of fine lees aging to enhance the wine's mouthfeel. This dry white wine beautifully balances vibrant notes of ripe pear, yellow apple, and fresh nuts with a clean, mineral-tinged finish, offering a superb representation of modern German Pinot Gris.

Founded in 1890 by banker Carl Gunderloch, the Gunderloch estate is located in Nackenheim in the Rheinhessen region of Germany.
