✨ wine.spec_sheet

To celebrate the golden anniversary of hip-hop in 2023, Hennessy partnered with the legendary Queensbridge lyricist Nas to release this limited-edition VS (Very Special) Cognac. This bottling pays homage to the symbiotic history between hip-hop culture and Hennessy, a brand that has been immortalized in rap lyrics since the genre's birth in the Bronx in 1973. The blend itself is Hennessy's classic VS, composed of approximately 40 distinct eaux-de-vie primarily crafted from Ugni Blanc grapes sourced from Cognac's premier growing crus. Double-distilled in traditional copper alembic stills and matured in French Limousin oak casks, it offers a vibrant and robust profile characterized by notes of toasted almonds, brown sugar, fresh grapes, and a warm, oak-driven spice finish.

Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy in the historic town of Cognac, France, Hennessy has grown to become the world's most celebrated Cognac house. Headquartered on the banks of the Charente River along Rue de la Richonne, the house is renowned for its centuries-old blending heritage, famously guided by eight generations of master blenders from the Fillioux family. Utilizing traditional double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills, Hennessy ages its precious eaux-de-vie in French oak casks sourced from the Limousin forest to develop unparalleled complexity and depth. The estate's legendary portfolio is defined by iconic expressions such as the VSOP Privilège, the pioneering XO Cognac—a category first created by Maurice Hennessy in 1870—and the exquisite, ultra-premium Hennessy Paradis.
