Created as the ultimate tribute to the founder of the maison, Richard Hennessy is an extraordinary masterpiece of blending. This ultra-premium Cognac is crafted from some of the scarcest and most historic eaux-de-vie in Hennessy's reserves, with some components dating back to the early 19th century, carefully preserved in the historic Founder's Cellar. Distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes grown in the finest crus of the Cognac region, primarily Grande Champagne, the eaux-de-vie undergo traditional double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills before their exceptionally long sleep in French Limousin oak casks. The result is a spirit of unparalleled complexity, showing notes of delicate spices, leather, candied fruits, and a persistent, harmonious finish that represents the pinnacle of the Fillioux family's blending legacy.

Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy along the banks of the Charente River, Maison Hennessy has defined the architecture and prestige of modern Cognac. Sourcing primarily Ugni Blanc across the region's elite crus—notably Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois—the house relies on chalk-dense, limestone-rich soils and a temperate maritime microclimate to achieve base wines of searing natural acidity. Double-distilled on the lees in traditional Charentais copper pot stills, the unaged eaux-de-vie mature inside fine-grained French Tronçais and Limousin oak casks, orchestrated through humid and dry aging cellars. The blending process has been shepherded across eight generations of the Fillioux dynasty, overseen today by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and the venerated Tasting Committee.
