Originally created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for his close circle of friends, the XO classification established a new standard for aged spirits. This special edition pays homage to Hainan, the tropical island gateway known for its lush landscapes and historic maritime trade. Crafted from a complex blend of approximately 100 eaux-de-vie derived primarily from Ugni Blanc grapes across Cognac's finest crus, it is aged in Limousin oak casks.
