The origin of Hennessy VSOP Privilège is steeped in royal history. In 1817, the future King George IV of Great Britain, then Prince Regent, sent a personal request to the house of Hennessy for a 'Very Superior Old Pale' cognac. This historic order birthed the 'V.S.O.P' designation that would eventually become an official industry standard for aged spirits. This expression is a masterclass in blending consistency, uniting approximately 60 different eaux-de-vie sourced from the finest crus of the Cognac region. Maturation takes place in seasoned French oak casks, allowing the spirit to develop its signature balance of strength and smoothness, characterized by notes of fresh vanilla, cinnamon, light toasted oak, and candied fruit.
