Originally created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for his inner circle of friends, Hennessy XO established an entirely new category of Cognac. This legendary blend is composed of over one hundred eaux-de-vie, some aged for up to thirty years in French oak casks from the Limousin forest. The selection process, overseen for generations by the Fillioux family of master blenders, draws from the finest crus of the Cognac region, primarily Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois. The result is a deeply complex spirit characterized by its robust structure, rich aromas of dried fruits, dark chocolate, sweet spices, and a distinctive, lingering finish of wild cocoa and black pepper.
