Henri Giraud's Code Noir Rosé is a brilliant tribute to the historical relationship between the Pinot Noir grape and the legendary Grand Cru terroir of Aÿ. The name 'Code Noir' pays homage to the historical roots of black grape vinification in Champagne. Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, this cuvée is vinified in oak casks sourced from the nearby Argonne Forest, a signature Giraud method that imparts a rich, vinous texture and delicate woody spices. The rosé character is achieved through the traditional blending of a small portion of still red wine from Aÿ's ancient, sun-drenched hillsides. This results in a deeply complex, gastronomic Champagne that beautifully bridges the gap between a structured red wine and a delicate sparkling rosé.

Tracing its viticultural heritage in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ back to 1625 through the Hémart family, Champagne Henri Giraud is one of the most distinctive and artisanal Champagne houses. Today steered by Claude Giraud, the twelfth generation of the founding family, the estate is celebrated for reviving the historic tradition of vinifying and maturing Champagne exclusively in local oak barrels sourced from the nearby Forest of Argonne. Embracing organic practices and minimal intervention, Giraud champions powerful, Pinot Noir-dominant cuvées marked by intense vinous complexity, fine salinity, and exceptional aging potential.
