The Fût de Chêne MV (Multi-Vintage) series represents the pinnacle of Henri Giraud's revolutionary approach to Champagne making. Based on the 2007 harvest (hence MV07) and blended with reserve wines, this cuvée showcases the legendary terroir of the Grand Cru village of Aÿ. Historically, the wines of Aÿ were the favorites of French royalty, particularly King Henri IV, who famously styled himself as the 'Lord of Aÿ'. This cuvée is vinified and aged in oak barrels sourced from the historic Argonne Forest, a practice Claude Giraud revived to restore the traditional, rich, and vinous style of the region. The result is a spectacular, full-bodied Champagne with a deep golden hue, boasting complex aromas of baked pear, honey, toasted brioche, and a distinct mineral salinity derived from the deep chalk soils of Aÿ.
