Champagne Henri Giraud's PR 90-21 (also referenced as PR 21-90) represents a profound exploration of time and terroir in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ. This unique cuvée is built upon the concept of a Perpetual Reserve, a solera-style system initiated by the house in 1990. By blending equal parts of this deeply complex perpetual reserve (spanning from 1990 to 2020) with the vibrant, fresh base wine of the 2021 vintage, the house has crafted a Champagne that bridges generations. Vinified in small oak casks sourced from the historic Argonne Forest, the wine undergoes a slow, textured maturation that coaxes out the rich, vinous character of Aÿ's chalky soils. This process imbues the Champagne with a rare combination of mature, oxidative complexity—evoking notes of honey, baked stone fruits, and toasted brioche—alongside a striking, youthful acidity.

Based in the historic Grand Cru village of Aÿ, Champagne Henri Giraud traces its winemaking heritage back to 1625 with the Hémart family. Today, under the guidance of Claude Giraud, the house is world-renowned for its pioneering return to traditional oak vinification, utilizing barrels crafted exclusively from the nearby Argonne Forest to impart unmatched complexity and texture. This meticulous craftsmanship defines their bold, vinous style, exemplified by iconic cuvées such as Argonne and the Fût de Chêne MV. The estate is located at 71 Boulevard Charles de Gaulle, 51160 Aÿ-Champagne, France, and their official website is https://www.champagne-giraud.com.
