Henri Giraud's Solera is a legendary Ratafia Champenois, a traditional fortified mistelle that represents a historical treasure of the Champagne region. Crafted by muting fresh, unfermented grape must with local grape brandy (Marc de Champagne), this luscious elixir is aged in a perpetual reserve (solera) system initiated in 1990. Utilizing oak casks crafted from the historic Argonne Forest, this meticulous aging process allows younger vintages to continuously adopt the complexity, depth, and soul of the older reserve wines. The result is a deeply complex, amber-hued masterpiece that weaves together notes of dried apricots, honey, toasted nuts, and sweet spices, serving as a vibrant liquid archive of the house's winemaking heritage.

Based in the historic Grand Cru village of Aÿ, Champagne Henri Giraud traces its winemaking heritage back to 1625 with the Hémart family. Today, under the guidance of Claude Giraud, the house is world-renowned for its pioneering return to traditional oak vinification, utilizing barrels crafted exclusively from the nearby Argonne Forest to impart unmatched complexity and texture. This meticulous craftsmanship defines their bold, vinous style, exemplified by iconic cuvées such as Argonne and the Fût de Chêne MV. The estate is located at 71 Boulevard Charles de Gaulle, 51160 Aÿ-Champagne, France, and their official website is https://www.champagne-giraud.com.
