β¨ Technical Specifications
Sourced from the alluvial sandy loam soils of the Lodi appellation, this blush style is crafted from early-harvested Zinfandel grapes. To achieve its delicate coral hue and vibrant fruit character, the free-run juice undergoes brief skin contact for mere hours before pressing. Fermentation is conducted at cool temperatures entirely in stainless steel tanks and arrested early to preserve natural residual sugars, maintaining a buoyant profile without oak influence.
πΎ About the Producer
Perched on the western slopes outside Calistoga along the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains, Heritage School Vineyards occupies a historic 48-acre enclave that once served as the Heritage School for Boys. Established in 2014 by David and Linda Jenkins upon acquiring the former Harris Estate Vineyards, the estate encompasses roughly six acres of meticulously cultivated Cabernet Sauvignon vines set across diverse elevations, rocky volcanic benchlands, and gravelly stream beds. Renowned Napa Valley consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown directs cellar operations alongside viticulturist Josh Clark, focusing on small-lot vinifications that channel site-specific expression and purity of fruit. Harvested across distinctive parcels named Hillside, Lakeview, and Creekside, the fruit yields muscular yet polished Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings defined by saturated dark fruit, savory minerality, firm structure, and exceptional aging potential. Benchmark bottlings include the block-designated Hillside, Lakeview, Creekside, and the estate flagship Indulgence Cabernet Sauvignon.
