Heymann-Löwenstein's 'Fantasie' Sekt is a masterclass in the sparkling potential of the Terrassenmosel's extreme slate slopes. Sourced from the estate's steep, terraced vineyards in Winningen, where vines cling to weathered Devonian slate, this traditional-method sparkling wine is crafted entirely from Riesling. Reinhard Löwenstein, known for his artistic and philosophical approach to viticulture, conceived 'Fantasie' as a testament to the playful, imaginative heights that Mosel Riesling can achieve under pressure. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation before secondary fermentation in the bottle, followed by exceptionally long aging on the lees—often spanning several years—to integrate the Mosel's searing, mineral-driven acidity with rich, autolytic complexity.
