The Winninger Uhlen Beerenauslese Roth Lay is a monumental sweet wine born from one of the Mosel's most dramatic and steep terraced vineyards. The 'Roth Lay' parcel is defined by its striking, iron-rich Devonian red slate, which imparts a distinctively smoky, wild, and spicy mineral character to the wine. In exceptional years, the onset of botrytis (noble rot) shrivels the Riesling grapes to raisins, concentrating their natural sugars and vibrant acidity. Heymann-Löwenstein coaxes this liquid gold through patient, spontaneous fermentation.
