The Winninger Uhlen Beerenauslese Roth Lay is a monumental sweet wine born from one of the Mosel's most dramatic and steep terraced vineyards. The 'Roth Lay' parcel is defined by its striking, iron-rich Devonian red slate, which imparts a distinctively smoky, wild, and spicy mineral character to the wine. In exceptional years, the onset of botrytis (noble rot) shrivels the Riesling grapes to raisins, concentrating their natural sugars and vibrant acidity. Heymann-Löwenstein coaxes this liquid gold through patient, spontaneous fermentation. The resulting Beerenauslese is a masterclass in tension, balancing luscious, honeyed sweetness with a piercing, electric acidity and profound slate minerality.

Established in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in the historic village of Winningen, the Heymann-Löwenstein estate is a pioneering force in Germany's Terrassenmosel region.
