Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands of Scotland, Highland Park's Saint Magnus 12 Year Old is a legendary single malt Scotch whisky that pays homage to the island's rich Norse heritage and its patron saint, Magnus Erlendsson, the 12th-century Earl of Orkney. Highland Park, established in 1798, is one of the northernmost distilleries in the world. This expression captures the rugged, elemental terroir of Orkney, characterized by the distillery's use of aromatic peat cut from Hobbister Moor, which is rich in heather. This peat imparts a distinctively sweet, floral smokiness rather than the medicinal notes found in Islay malts. Matured for 12 years in seasoned oak casks, this expression delivers a harmonious balance of sweet heather honey, rich dried fruits, warm spices, and a gentle, lingering whisper of peat smoke.
