This prestigious 30-year-old single malt, bottled at 48.1% ABV, represents the pinnacle of the distillery's traditional craftsmanship. The unique character of Highland Park is deeply tied to its island terroir; the distillery uses precious, hand-cut peat from the nearby Hobbister Moor, which is rich in decomposed heather rather than wood, imparting a sweet, fragrant, and floral smoke. Matured slowly over three decades in a combination of first-fill European oak sherry casks, American oak sherry casks, and refill casks, this expression benefits from Orkney's temperate, maritime climate. The result is a deeply complex spirit showcasing layers of dark chocolate, dried orange peel, warm spices, and a whisper of aromatic peat smoke.
