Highland Park, established in 1798 on the windswept Orkney Islands by the legendary smuggler Magnus Eunson, is one of Scotland's most remote and historic distilleries. This extraordinary 56-year-old single malt represents the absolute pinnacle of Orcadian distilling heritage. Shaped by the wild, maritime climate of the Islands, the spirit benefits from the distillery's traditional floor maltings and the use of unique, aromatic peat cut from nearby Hobbister Moor. This ancient peat, rich in heather rather than wood, infuses the malt with a delicate, floral smokiness. Matured for over half a century in exceptional oak casks, this rare expression weaves a complex tapestry of dried dark fruits, warm spices, heather honey, and a whisper of coastal brine, reflecting a lifetime of quiet maturation amidst the North Sea gales.
