Highland Park, established in 1798 by the legendary smuggler and priest Magnus Eunson, is situated on the windswept Orkney Islands of Scotland. This remote northern archipelago, steeped in Viking history, shapes the whisky's character through its maritime climate and unique, woodless peat composed almost entirely of decomposed heather. The Orkney Single Malt Bourbon Barrel 'Full Cask' No 65 represents a distinct departure from the distillery's typical sherry-cask influence. Maturation in a single ex-bourbon barrel coaxes out bright notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and citrus, which beautifully counterpoint the distillery's signature gentle, heathery peat smoke and coastal brine.
