Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands, Highland Park is steeped in Viking history and folklore, founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a direct descendant of Norse settlers. The 'Full Cask' No 46 represents a single hogshead bottling of this legendary single malt. The unique terroir of Orkney, characterized by treeless, gale-beaten landscapes, yields a heather-rich peat used to dry the malted barley. This imparts a distinctive aromatic, floral smokiness rather than the medicinal peat of the Islay region. Matured in a traditional hogshead cask, this expression balances the distillery's signature heather-honey sweetness, soft peat smoke, and rich dried-fruit notes, offering a pure and unadulterated glimpse into Orkney's rugged coastal character.
