Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands, Highland Park's single malt whiskies are deeply intertwined with Viking history and rugged island terroir. This 'Full Cask' No 5, matured in a traditional hogshead, showcases the distillery's legendary spirit in its most authentic form. Highland Park relies on hand-turned floor maltings and slow-burning peat cut from Hobbister Moor. Because Orkney is virtually treeless, this ancient peat is composed almost entirely of heather, imparting a uniquely sweet, floral, and aromatic smoke rather than the medicinal brine of Islay. Maturation in a hogshead cask coaxes out notes of wild heather honey, soft vanilla, and delicate coastal air, delivering a beautifully balanced, cask-strength expression of Orcadian craftsmanship.

Highland Park blev grundlagt i 1798 i Kirkwall på det afsidesliggende Orkney-øhav og er et af Skotlands mest traditionsrige og nordligst beliggende single malt-destillerier. Destilleriet, som i dag er ejet af Edrington Group, værner kompromisløst om det klassiske whiskyhåndværk; her praktiserer man fortsat traditionel gulvmaltning med håndkraft og høster tæt, lyngmættet tørv fra den nærliggende Hobbister Moor. Modningen foregår primært på udsøgte sherrytilsmagte egetræsfade i Orkneys kølige, vindblæste kystklima.
