Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands, where Viking heritage runs deep and trees rarely survive the fierce North Sea gales, Highland Park stands as a legendary bastion of traditional Scotch whisky production. Founded in 1798, supposedly by the colorful smuggler and butcher Magnus Eunson, the distillery relies on hand-turned floor maltings and unique peat cut from the nearby Hobbister Moor. This peat, rich in decomposed heather rather than wood, infuses the malt with a signature sweet, floral smokiness. The Orkney Single Malt Hogshead 'Full Cask' No 6, matured in a traditional hogshead cask, showcases this coastal terroir in its purest form. The hogshead maturation allows the delicate interplay of heather honey, soft maritime brine, and gentle peat smoke to shine, reflecting centuries of island tradition.

Highland Park blev grundlagt i 1798 i Kirkwall på det afsidesliggende Orkney-øhav og er et af Skotlands mest traditionsrige og nordligst beliggende single malt-destillerier.
