Highland Park, established in 1798 on the windswept Orkney Islands, is steeped in Viking history and rugged maritime terroir. This exceptional 18-year-old single malt, drawn from Refill Butt Cask No. 4627 for the London Edition No. 1, showcases the distillery's signature style. Unlike mainland distilleries, Highland Park uses local Orcadian peat packed with decomposed heather, imparting a gentle, sweet, and aromatic smokiness. The use of a refill butt cask allows the slow-maturing spirit to retain its distillery character—balancing heather honey, soft peat smoke, and dried fruit notes—without being overpowered by active oak. It is a testament to Orkney's temperate, wind-battered climate, which ensures a slow, even maturation process.
