Highland Park's Thorfinn is a legendary expression from the Orkney Islands, named after Thorfinn the Mighty, a powerful 11th-century Earl of Orkney who ruled with a fierce but wise hand. This single malt Scotch whisky embodies the rugged, wind-swept terroir of Kirkwall, where the distillery has stood since 1798. Crafted using Orcadian peat—which is uniquely composed of decomposed heather rather than wood, imparting a sweet, floral, and gentle smoky character—Thorfinn is matured predominantly in hand-selected, sherry-seasoned European oak casks. This meticulous aging process infuses the spirit with deep, complex layers of dried dark fruits, warm baking spices, ginger, and lingering peat smoke, reflecting the rich Viking heritage and dramatic maritime climate of the islands.

Highland Park blev grundlagt i 1798 i Kirkwall på det afsidesliggende Orkney-øhav og er et af Skotlands mest traditionsrige og nordligst beliggende single malt-destillerier.
