Hine's vintage Cognac releases, often referred to as Vieille Vintage, represent the pinnacle of single-year spirit craftsmanship in a region traditionally dominated by multi-vintage blends. The house of Hine holds a legendary status as one of the few producers permitted to bottle single-vintage Cognacs, a testament to their meticulous record-keeping and strict adherence to French regulations. Sourced primarily from the chalky, premier cru soils of Grande Champagne, these spirits are crafted from grapes harvested in a single exceptional year. After double-distillation in traditional Charentais copper alembic stills, the spirit is aged in French oak casks. A unique aspect of Hine's heritage is their 'Early Landed' tradition, where select vintage casks are shipped to Bristol, England, to mature in damp, cool maritime cellars, resulting in an exceptionally delicate, floral, and refined profile compared to the richer, spicier counterparts aged in the warmer cellars of Jarnac.
