The Cuvée Albert Grivault is a highly prized Meursault Premier Cru white wine from the Hospices de Beaune. Albert Grivault, a prominent distiller and owner of the legendary Clos des Perrières, made a significant impact on Meursault's viticultural history. In 1904, his family donated exceptional parcels of Meursault-Charmes Premier Cru to the Hospices. This cuvée is crafted from these historic, east-facing slopes where the clay-limestone soils impart a signature richness, tension, and profound minerality. Vinified with traditional Burgundian methods and aged in oak casks, the wine beautifully balances opulent stone fruit, toasted hazelnut, and white flower aromas with a vibrant, saline acidity that reflects the finest attributes of Meursault's premier terroirs.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune was established as a charitable hospital supported by donations of prime vineyard parcels. Today, the historic estate encompasses over 60 hectares of exceptionally situated Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Revered worldwide for its historic charity wine auction held every November since 1859, the domaine employs meticulous, organic viticultural techniques to highlight the uncompromised terroir of each plot. Its celebrated portfolio consists of distinguished Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cuvées, each named in honor of prominent historical benefactors such as Cuvée Nicolas Rolin and Cuvée Charlotte Dumay.
