The Meursault-Genevrières Premier Cru 'Cuvée Baudot' is one of the most illustrious white wines offered at the historic Hospices de Beaune charity auction. This exceptional cuvée is sourced from the highly prized Genevrières climat, where the vines dig deep into fractured limestone and active chalk soils, yielding a wine of remarkable tension, mineral drive, and aromatic complexity. The cuvée's name honors the Baudot family, whose generous bequest of prime vineyard parcels to the Hospices in the mid-20th century cemented their legacy in Burgundian history. Traditionally, this white Burgundy displays a brilliant golden hue, offering a sophisticated bouquet of citrus blossom, hazelnut, crushed stones, and a signature hint of spice. After the annual November auction, the young wine is entrusted to elite local négociants-éleveurs, who guide its maturation in French oak casks to achieve a perfect harmony of opulent texture and vibrant, saline acidity.

Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune was established as a charitable hospital supported by donations of prime vineyard parcels. Today, the historic estate encompasses over 60 hectares of exceptionally situated Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Revered worldwide for its historic charity wine auction held every November since 1859, the domaine employs meticulous, organic viticultural techniques to highlight the uncompromised terroir of each plot.
