This historic cuv e pays tribute to Guigone de Salins, who co-founded the Hospices de Beaune in 1443 alongside her husband, Nicolas Rolin. Following his death, Guigone moved from her comfortable life to personally run the H tel-Dieu, dedicating her remaining years and personal fortune to caring for the sick and destitute. The wine itself is a masterful blend of select Beaune Premier Cru parcels, historically including prized sites like Les Bressandes, Les Seurats, and Les Champs Pimonts. It showcases the classic elegance of Beaune Pinot Noir, balancing vibrant red fruit, earthy complexity, and refined tannins. Traditionally auctioned in barrel on the third Sunday of November, this cuv e represents both the pinnacle of Burgundian terroir and a centuries-old legacy of philanthropy.

Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune was established as a charitable hospital supported by donations of prime vineyard parcels. Today, the historic estate encompasses over 60 hectares of exceptionally situated Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Revered worldwide for its historic charity wine auction held every November since 1859, the domaine employs meticulous, organic viticultural techniques to highlight the uncompromised terroir of each plot. Its celebrated portfolio consists of distinguished Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cuvées, each named in honor of prominent historical benefactors such as Cuvée Nicolas Rolin and Cuvée Charlotte Dumay.
