Hailing from the steep, picturesque slopes of Pernand-Vergelesses, the Cuvée Rameau-Lamarosse is a distinguished Premier Cru red Burgundy with a rich charitable heritage. The cuvée owes its name to Marie Rameau-Lamarosse, who generously bequeathed her prized vineyard parcels to the Hospices de Beaune in 1934. These east-facing plots, primarily situated in the Premier Cru climat of 'Les Fichots', benefit from iron-rich clay and limestone soils that impart both power and mineral precision to the wine. Under the stewardship of the Hospices, the Pinot Noir grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and fermented before being sold at the legendary annual charity auction. The resulting wine is celebrated for its deep ruby color, vibrant aromas of wild cherries, blackcurrant, and underbrush, supported by a firm, elegant tannic structure that promises outstanding longevity.

Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune is a historic charitable institution and wine estate located in Beaune, France. Over the centuries, generous donations of prestigious vineyard parcels have amassed an extraordinary 60-hectare estate, primarily consisting of Grand Cru and Premier Cru climats across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Under the precise direction of régisseur Ludivine Griveau, the estate meticulously crafts exceptional red Pinot Noir and white Chardonnay wines, which are famously sold at the annual charity auction on the third Sunday of November. These highly coveted cuvées, such as the Cuvee Nicolas Rolin and Cuvee Charlotte Dumay, represent the pinnacle of Burgundian terroir and philanthropic tradition, aged in oak casks before being completed by selected négociants-éleveurs of the region.
