✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the prestigious Volnay appellation in the Cote de Beaune, the Cuvee Raymond Cyrot is a masterfully crafted red Burgundy with a rich charitable heritage. The cuvee is named in honor of Raymond Cyrot, whose widow, Marguerite Grognot, generously bequeathed prime Volnay vineyard parcels to the Hospices de Beaune in 1935. This exceptional blend is sourced from coveted parcels including the Premier Cru En Carelle sous la Chapelle, alongside Les Lurets and Les Robardelles. These clay-limestone soils yield a Pinot Noir of immense elegance, characterized by its perfumed floral aromas, red berry fruit, and silky, refined tannins. Following the historic Hospices auction, the wine is traditionally raised in oak casks by selected negociants-eleveurs, preserving its classic Volnay typicity of grace and poise.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune was established as a charitable hospital supported by donations of prime vineyard parcels. Today, the historic estate encompasses over 60 hectares of exceptionally situated Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Revered worldwide for its historic charity wine auction held every November since 1859, the domaine employs meticulous, organic viticultural techniques to highlight the uncompromised terroir of each plot. Its celebrated portfolio consists of distinguished Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cuvées, each named in honor of prominent historical benefactors such as Cuvée Nicolas Rolin and Cuvée Charlotte Dumay.
