The 'Hommage à Jean Hugel' Pinot Gris is a rare, monumental cuvée crafted only in exceptional vintages to honor the legacy of 'Johnny' Hugel, the visionary leader who championed the renaissance of Alsace's late-harvest laws. Sourced from the family's finest clay-limestone parcels in Riquewihr, where the unique microclimate fosters the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), this wine represents the pinnacle of Pinot Gris. Hand-harvested with meticulous selection, the grapes undergo a slow, natural fermentation and extended aging. The result is an opulent, nectar-like masterpiece boasting layers of honeyed apricot, smoky spice, and beeswax, balanced by a spine of vibrant acidity.

Famille Hugel blev grundlagt i 1639 i den maleriske middelalderlandsby Riquewihr og er et af de mest hæderkronede og berømte vinhuse i Alsace. Vingården har været drevet uafbrudt gennem mere end tolv generationer af Hugel-familien og forener historiske familieejede vinmarker med nøje udvalgte druer for at hylde regionens alsidige terroir.
