Crafted by the historic Famille Hugel in Riquewihr, the 'Tokay Pinot Gris Jubilee' represents a magnificent chapter in Alsace winemaking. Historically, the grape was known locally as Tokay Pinot Gris, a nod to ancient legends suggesting the vine was brought back from Hungary by General Lazare de Schwendi in the 16th century. The 'Jubilee' cuvée was originally created to celebrate the family's 350th anniversary in 1989, sourced from their finest, oldest estate vineyards—most notably the clay-marl soils of the Grand Cru Sporen. Vinified in historic, century-old oak foudres, this wine showcases a rich, opulent style balanced by a deep, mineral backbone, capturing the essence of Riquewihr's exceptional terroir before the 'Tokay' prefix was phased out due to European regulations.

Established in 1639 in the picturesque medieval village of Riquewihr, Famille Hugel is one of the most venerable and celebrated wine producers in Alsace, France. Managed continuously by more than a dozen generations of the Hugel family, the estate combines historic family vineyards with carefully sourced fruit to champion the diverse terroirs of the region. Hugel was instrumental in establishing the official regulations for Alsace's revered late-harvest categories, Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles. Renowned globally for their purity, elegance, and ageability, the winery crafts benchmark dry and sweet expressions of noble Alsace varieties, particularly Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris, vinified traditionally in century-old oak foudres.
