This specific release honors Jess Gamble, who served as the distillery's fourth Master Distiller from 1964 to 1966 and was notably the first master distiller from outside the Jack Daniel family. Crafted in Lynchburg, Tennessee, using the iron-free cave spring water from the Cave Spring Hollow, the spirit follows a time-honored mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. It undergoes the legendary Lincoln County Process, dripping slowly through ten feet of tightly packed sugar maple charcoal before maturing in handcrafted, charred American white oak barrels.
