As a distilled spirit, this whiskey does not mature further in the bottle. It is ready to enjoy immediately upon release and will remain stable indefinitely when stored upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

The Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Series No. 5 pays tribute to Frank Bobo, who served as the distillery's master distiller from 1966 to 1989. During his tenure, Bobo guided the brand through a historic rise in global popularity, famously maintaining the whiskey's uncompromising quality even when demand far outpaced supply. Crafted in Lynchburg, Tennessee, this expression follows the time-honored Tennessee Whiskey tradition: a mash bill of corn, rye, and barley malt, distilled and then mellowed drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal—a method known as the Lincoln County Process. It is then matured in handcrafted charred white oak barrels. This process imparts the signature smooth, sweet character of vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel that defines the Jack Daniel's legacy, wrapped in a historical tribute to one of its legendary liquid custodians.

Established in 1866 by Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel in Lynchburg, Tennessee, the Jack Daniel Distillery stands as the oldest registered distillery in the United States. Situated at the pristine Cave Spring Hollow, the distillery utilizes iron-free cave spring water and a distinct mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. The signature of their production is the Lincoln County Process, where the newly distilled spirit is slowly drop-by-drop mellowed through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal before aging in handcrafted white oak barrels. This meticulous craftsmanship yields their world-renowned Tennessee Whiskey, celebrated through iconic expressions such as Old No. 7, Gentleman Jack, and their Single Barrel collection.
