The Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz represents a groundbreaking innovation in Australian winemaking, blending traditional viticulture with spirits maturation techniques. Crafted from premium Shiraz grapes sourced across South Australia's top wine regions, the wine undergoes a unique two-stage aging process. After initial aging in traditional French and American oak wine casks, the wine is finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels. This pioneering technique, which required years of experimentation to perfect without overpowering the fruit, utilizes the coarse grain of the whisky barrels to gently soften the Shiraz's robust tannins, yielding an incredibly smooth palate with integrated notes of toasted oak, dark cocoa, and sweet spices.
